Are you Athens authenticated?

Are you Athens authenticated?   If not you may be missing out… Athens passwords unlock the door to a huge number of NHS electronic resources that can help you in your work, studies or research.  The National Library for Health  offers access to over 1000 e-journals, e-books and 7 key databases. In addition London Health Libraries and St. George’s Library have “topped up” the  national resources to bring you even more resources. To use them you’ll need an NHS Athens Password to login from any computer with an internet connection.

Getting a password is easy- you can:

  • Self-register for one from any NHS machine
  • Download, complete and return an Athens application form
  • Pop in person and fill in an Athens application form
  • Call the library helpdesk on 020 8725 0596

Access to Athens resources is via 3 main routes- you can

  1. Login at the National Library for Health
  2. Login to MyAthens at http://www.athens.nhs.uk
  3. Follow the links to electronic databases, books and journals on the library’s website or intranet pages (for St. George’s Healthcare Trust and Wandsworth Teaching PCT members)

Can’t remember your Athens password? Athens account expired? Just call the library helpdesk on 020 8725 0596 so we can reset your password.

For training or supporting in using Athens resources contact Karen John-Pierre, your NHS link librarian on 020 8725 5441 kjohn@sgul.ac.uk
